Teancum's 5th Birthday!

Happy Birthday Teancum! we celebrated twice because we had a small family of 4 party at first and then we had to celebrate with the cousins so that is why you see different backgrounds in these pictures. Teancum wanted a Mr. potatoes head and a fire truck because he lost both of his original ones of each which he obviously got replaced and he loves them. he also got a cool little build a bear firefighter dog that he named tank the firefighter dog and he sleeps with it every night and a bunch of other really fun toys that he should never say he is bored or doesn't have enough. Now I am going to do a little spot light info about him. He wants to be a firefighter just like his papa when he gets older so he has collected everything from the suit to the toy and the stuffed animal and books and masks etc. H loves books and letting his imagination go when he looks at them. 5 is a really big number and you can see it in there clothes and there talk and walk etc. He grew up way to fast, yet i can still see that cute little baby in his face whenever I look at him. unfortunately he missed the cut off date for kindergarten by 5 days so he is repeating pre-school this year. Utah has some pretty lame system over here but what can you do? Tank also loves to ride his bike and go to for walks to the park and the library. He loves movies ( G- rated only)and he watches them a million times over so he has them all memorized. He likes his new teacher and classmates and enjoys going to school everyday. his favorite t.v. shows are sid the science kid and word world and sesame street ( we don't have cable). He loves his little sister and likes to teach her everything he knows and he takes really good care of her. And he loves mom and dad but tests us quite a bit lately, and he never tires of seeing his cousins because he doesn't get to see them that much because we all live in so many different places. Thanks to all the family who celebrated with us in this special birthday for such an amazing kid. He loves all the gifts and phone calls from everyone.xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

a visit with popa

Although coming home is never easy whe you have to get to life, we lucked out because POPA or POP(grandpa sherman) came for a fun little visit with all his kids. so we had an awesome time. I didn't get any pictures of us all camping in the wasatch mountains but we had the whole camp set up and it was midnight so everyone was sleeping except for jacob, sherman and derek when we got an unexcpected visit from the police telling us we couldn't camp there. we thought it was a legal place to camp but we were wrong. so we were forced to pack up and leave which was not an experience I want to repeat again. we had to hike eveything and everyone about a quarter of a mile back to the cars in the pitch black of the night. and it was really windy. but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise when we woke up the next morning in our nice warm beds and saw that it was raining and had been through the night. so these pictures are of our visit to the dinosaur museum but I didn't get any with pop, so I think he must have taken all the pictures while he was here and I just haven't recieved them yet. the kids had a good time digging for fossils and bones and looking at all the huge dinosaurs on display. I also should mention that we got to hang out with grandma peters ( shermans mom) and that was a really special event because none of us ever get to see her because she lives in redlands CA and we never seem to make it up there and she has never come to utah. we had a really nice time with the family so thank you Popa for everything.

summer fun!

I never did put up any pictures of our visit to san diego. I figured my sisters would have all the good ones. I didn't have jacob there to help me out so I could take more pictures so these are all I got. We had a blast!!. teancum loves to visit. he said to me this morning oct 8th that it smelled like san diego> I guess it was a wet smell that reminded him of it. I thought it was cute how in tune he is with his suroundings and making memories with smells. he got along really well with his cousins. he and victor were buddies and then dakota was the little rough houser. it was really cute because jared followed koda and koda followed tank and tank followed victor and cumorah just tagged along wherever her brother went. it was a full house. me and my kids stayed at my grandparents house for a few days and then at cousin jennas house which was really nice of her. other wise we would've had to sleep with the dogs because there was absolutley no room for our entire clan to sleep under one roof. It was a party everyday. in these pictures you can see all the different activities they would do in a day. the first one is of koda and cumorah sitting in the wagon and tank and vic are shaking on a deal or something. the next one val and tank and yoli and vic are playing the hand slapping game while everyone else is just lounging around hanging out. then the last one was at the end of the night afer dinner and baths all the little grandkids sat down to watch madagascar and they all became glued to the t.v. In the end we all had to say good bye which was really hard for everyone because we don't know when the next time we can all be together again will be. so we try to get together on ovoo often and thats always fun. it was wonderful to visit with our friends too and hang out at the beach as much as possible. I got to surf evry day early in the morning with the perez family and it reminded me of the good old times when i would go with stephanie everyday during the summer days and then I would go with emily during my college years. good times.:) if only we had a beach in utah.

Schools out for summer!

Teancum finished his first year of pre-school on may 20th this year and it was awesome. He had the best teachers and they did some pretty fun things. teancum made lots of friends but unfortunately he won't be going back to that class next fall because we found one closer to home. for the last day of school they had a picnic where they got to play games and beat the pinatas that one of the parents made. it was a sad day for me because I loved the 3 1/2 hours that I had of alone time with cumorah every morning and to get errands done with 1 child instead of two. one was so much esier than 2 thats for sure.

Soccer season came and went this year. Kaiden and Teancum had fun playing on the same team again. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the 2 of them together except for the one of them warming up with their dads at the bottom. Teancum made 4 goals and only one of those was for the wrong team, so we were really impressed. last year he wouldn't even play so it was a huge improvement.


Teancum is such a stud in those soccer clothes. here he is practicing his dribbling skills.

Cumorah was the cheerleader and sometimes she thought she was on the team because we found her walking or crawling on the field during the games.

Kaiden was the mvp of the team so we never lost a game. he scored an average of 6 goals per game overall. next year he will be playing on a more serious level. Go Kaiden!

Easter 2009 at the cottoms

For easter we always go to the cottams (Cousins)for a potluck dinner and an easter egg hunt. This year they bought a buggy and took tank for a ride. I think he looks so grown up in that helmet
